International Conference: "What Is Soviet in Post-Soviet Space?"
16/11/2021
The Center for Russian Studies, a non-governmental organisation, with the financial support of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, in partnership with Ilia State University, will hold an international conference in a hybrid format on November 30 - December 1 – “What is Soviet in post-Soviet space“.
About the conference
The conference is dedicated to understanding the connections between the past and the present in the politics of Russia and the region. It aims to establish the interrelationships between memories, historical discourses and social practices in a given geographical area which affect the future of the region.
At the conference, scholars from many different disciplines will assess the diverse political trajectories of the post-Soviet states and highlight the modern post-Soviet characteristics that these states have and that stem from a more or less distant common past.
